The Humanitarian Collaborative is excited to announce the next Humanitarian Horizons Series, titled “Exploring Issues in Global Education.” Lucy Bassett, co-Director of the Humanitarian Collaborative and Professor of Practice at the Batten School, will host a discussion with Lissett Mary Babaian, Practitioner Fellow at the Humanitarian Collaborative

Lissett has worked across the education sector, from early childhood development to higher education. She has created an award-winning cartoon, managed the edtech portfolio of a leading foundation, and led turnaround efforts for several international schools and for-profit education ventures. As managing director of an international consulting firm, Lissett conducts large-scale evaluations and advises private investors and foundations on several multimillion-dollar education investments. With experience spanning Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, Lissett holds an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA in Child and Family Policy from Duke University.

The Humanitarian Horizons Series hopes to provide a space for engagement and open dialogue among students who are interested in addressing the world’s pressing humanitarian and development challenges.
