Transformative Leadership in Times of Polycrisis
Humanitarian Collaborative Practitioner Fellows Sara Abbas and Amel Gorani participated in the Humanitarian Leadership Conference with the theme: “Transformative leadership in times of polycrisis” in Doha, Qatar. The conference was jointly organised by the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS) and the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership (CHL) at Deakin University, Australia. The conference brought together over 250 humanitarian professionals, practitioners, researchers, and leaders from more than 85 countries, in addition to hundreds of virtual participants.
Sara and Amel organized a panel on Humanitarianism and feminist leadership in the polycrisis: thoughts on and from Sudan. The panel also featured Safaa Elagib, founding member and President of Community Development Association (CDA), who has decades-long experience of working on humanitarian emergencies from Darfur and across Sudan, who traveled from Chad to participate.
