Jeanne Ward, Practitioner Fellow at the Humanitarian Collaborative, reflected on her 25-year career addressing violence against women (VAW) as part of the monthly “Batesvillians – in their own words” series. Drawing on her experience with UN agencies and global NGOs, Jeanne shared lessons she’s learned, persistent challenges, and ideas for future directions in the fight against gender-based violence.
Jeanne has worked across every region of the world, with extensive field experience and academic roles at institutions such as Smith College, Columbia University, University of Virginia, and University College Dublin.
