Humanitarian Collaborative at Brookings Event on Supporting Young Children in Crisis

On December 1, the Humanitarian Collaborative will participate in an event exploring the challenges to and opportunities for better supporting young children in crisis situations. The event “Young Children in Crisis: Listening and Supporting in Uncertain Times,” hosted by the Brookings Institution, will consider the implications of recent shifts in foreign and domestic aid, highlight persistent gaps in support for young childhood in crisis settings, and explore policy and financing solutions to better meet children’s needs.

As part of the program, the Humanitarian Collaborative will present on ways children can share their perspectives to inform crisis response. The event will also feature participation by the former Senior Technical Advisor for Early Childhood Development at USAID and the Interim Director of the Moving Minds Alliance, a multi-stakeholder alliance advocating for young children in crisis response.

The event will take place from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. EST at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC, and is open to both in-person attendees and virtual participants. More information is available through the Brookings event page.
