Global Perspectives on COVID-19 Vaccination
The Humanitarian Collaborative contributed to a newly published study in Vaccine, a leading peer-reviewed journal on immunization research. Titled “Global perspectives on COVID-19 vaccination: Impacts on well-being and inequality,” this study examines the relationship between COVID-19 vaccination and subjective well-being (SWB), as well as well-being inequality. Using a conceptual framework, the research incorporates demographic characteristics, socioeconomic factors, health, and social support.
The findings underscore the critical role of COVID-19 vaccination in enhancing both current and expected future well-being while reducing well-being inequality. The results suggest that public health policies should prioritize vaccine uptake and address underlying socioeconomic disparities to promote overall mental health and well-being in the population.
